Barcelona Cathedral & The Rooftop Bar With the Best View
Barcelona Cathedral in Spain.
Barcelona Cathedral: Heart of the Gothic Quarter
The Catedral de Barcelona, also called the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, dominates the Gothic Quarter. Musicians and street performers entertain in the square, locals hang out on the steps, and the whole space is full of energy.
Inside, you’ll find vaulted ceilings, impressive altars, and an expansive rooftop. But let me share a secret: the best view of this cathedral isn’t from within. It’s from above, with cava in hand, at L’Àtic rooftop bar.

L’Àtic Rooftop Bar at the Lamaro Hotel
Perched on the top floor of the Lamaro Hotel, L’Àtic is a terrace with uninterrupted views of the cathedral’s bell towers… and it feels like a front-row seat to one of Barcelona’s most iconic landmarks.
We discovered it after a long morning of exploring the Gothic Quarter. Free to access (no reservation needed), it felt like we’d stumbled into one of Barcelona’s best-kept secrets.

We arrived, ordered a few wines, and soaked in the views.

Practical Tips for Visiting L’Àtic
Arrive Early: Go before sunset to secure a table facing the cathedral.
No Reservations: Seating is first come, first served. Once seated, you can ask to go on the waiting list for one of the best tables with the most epic views (the photos are worth it). We only waited around 10 minutes for ours.
Budget: Drinks are not much pricier than street-level bars, and you’re paying for the unbeatable view.
Dress Code: Casual but chic. Rooftop bars in Barcelona lean stylish.
Time It Right: Late afternoon into evening is magical for light, photos, and atmosphere… but really any time of day is breathtaking.
